Housed external spherical bearings are a type of bearing unit that combines a rolling bearing with a housing. Most of the external spherical bearings are made spherical in outer diameter and mounted together with housings with spherical bores, which have a variety of structural forms, good versatility and interchangeability.

Vertical (shaft table type) ball bearing units consist of an embedded bearing mounted in a cast iron bearing housing that can be bolted to a support surface. These units are strong and rigid and are suitable for applications where the direction of rotation is fixed or alternating. The inner ring is elongated on both sides and is locked to the shaft by tightening the set screws on the inner ring for easy mounting.
